Wade started Tidewater Guide Co in 1996 with one borrowed skiff and his grandfather's hand-drawn map of the oyster bars. He holds a USCG license, has guided more than 1,500 trips, and still runs the bay four days a week — because, as he puts it, the day he stops learning the water is the day he retires.

Guests know Wade for fast patience: first-timers get careful coaching, veterans get left alone until the moment matters, and kids get the front of the boat. His specialties are spring redfish on the flats and the fall speckled-trout bite.
